Why You Should Listen to the True Grit Audiobook
I loved both film versions of TRUE GRIT but had never read the Charles Portis novel it was based upon. Then I discovered that Donna Tartt, the brilliant author of THE SECRET HISTORY and THE GOLD FINCH, was such a fan of TRUE GRIT that she offered to narrate the audiobook.
Donna does a brilliant job, giving voice to 13-year-old Mattie Ross, who sets out to avenge the death of her father, Frank Ross, who was gunned down by the outlaw Tom Chaney. Even if you’ve seen the film, listen to the audiobook. You won’t be disappointed.
