Watching You

Marine Logan often feels like she’s being watched.

Nothing she can quite put her finger on – a whisper of breath on the back of her neck, or a shadow in the corner of her eye – and now her life is frozen. Her husband Daniel has been missing for more than a year. Depressed and increasingly desperate, she seeks the help of clinical psychologist Joe O’Loughlin. Joe is concerned by Marnie’s reluctance to talk about the past, but then she discovers a book packed with pictures, interviews with friends, former teachers, old flames and workmates Daniel was preparing for her birthday. It was supposed to be a celebration of her life. But it’s not the story anyone was expecting…

“Always surprising and never dull…the plot is so twisted and the psychology so perverse, even the most alert reader might misread the clues.”

Marilyn Stasio, The New York Times Book Review

“Robotham’s disturbing eighth thriller [is a] steady and commanding book with an ending that’s sure to give even the most jaded reader a shock.”

Publisher’s Weekly (US)

“It’ll keep you guessing and gasping.”

EW (Entertainment Weekly)

“Robotham tells his tale with humor, great pacing, and excellent character delineations. The plot of WATCHING YOU is bizarrely satisfying. It twists so much, it’s easy to be quite wrung out at the end.”

Murder By The Book (US)

“Robotham remains among the most inventive and intriguing authors in today’s crowded thriller realm.”

Bookgasm (US)

“This is psychological thriller writing at its very best.”

Crime Fiction Lover (UK)

“Robotham continues to write intricately plotted stories that are rich in character. I really care about these people.”

Linwood Barclay (Sunday Times best-selling author)

“It’s Robotham’s darkest work – and that’s saying something – with chilling gothic set pieces that would have made Hitchcock blanch. No other crime writer investigates the psychopath’s compulsion with such forensic rigour or quite the same elegant and poised prose.”

Graeme Blundell in The Australian

“Robotham renders the ordinary extraordinary…[and] delivers the kind of adrenalin rush a gripping thriller is expected to deliver.”

Sue Turnbull in the Sydney Morning Herald

“Michael Robotham’s series featuring clinical psychologist Joe O’Loughlin mixes punchy prose, zippy dialogue and a splash of horror with well-crafted plots.”

South China Morning Post, Hong Kong

“It was scary.”

Karen Hardy in the Brisbane Times

“This is a book you won’t want to put down.”

Buzz Magazine, Australia

“Robotham is on top form in this latest thriller”

Bella Magazine UK

“Michael Robotham’s books have been steadily getting better and bolder. The Australian former journalist writes clever, engaging and terrifying books that are somehow filled with sadness and soul… Robotham delivers another exquisite tale.”

Catholic Herald UK

“Another cracking suspense yarn from one of the best in the genre…will glue you till the last page.”

West Australian (Perth)

“One of Australia’s best crime writers delivers as usual, a page-turning thriller packed with surprises.”

Herald-Sun (Melbourne)

“…a thrilling read that will leave you gasping for breath.”

The Manly Daily (Sydney)
